Coordinated Multiwavelength Observations of V410 Tau

چکیده
In November 2001 we undertook a coordinated observing campaign to study the connection between X-ray and optical variability in the weak-line T Tauri star V410 Tau. The observing plan included three ∼ 15 ksec observations with Chandra using the Advanced CCD Imaging Spectrometer for Spectroscopy (ACIS-S) scheduled for different phases of the known 1.87 d starspot cycle. Photometric and spectroscopic monitoring of V410 Tau involving telescopes on three different continents was scheduled simultaneously with the Chandra exposures.

We have analysed newly calibrated IUE and ROSAT data for three T Tauri stars from diierent sub-classes: TW Hya, V410 Tau and CS Cha, a Classical T Tauri star (CTTS), a Weak T Tauri star (WTTS) and a T Tauri star intermediate between CTTS and WTTS, respectively. In the ultraviolet the continuum seems to be well explained by the sum of the stellar black body emission plus a hydrogenic component w...

Following the recent classification of the Xray detected object V410 x-ray 3 with a young brown dwarf candidate (Briceño et al. 1998) and the identification of an X-ray source in Chamaeleon as young bonafide brown dwarf (Neuhäuser & Comerón 1998), we investigate all ROSAT All-Sky Survey and archived ROSAT PSPC and HRI pointed observations with bona-fide or candidate brown dwarfs in the field of...
متن کاملMultiwavelength analysis for interferometric (sub-)mm observations of protoplanetary disks - Radial constraints on the dust properties and the disk structure
Context. The growth of dust grains from sub-μm to mm and cm sizes is the first step towards the formation of planetesimals. Theoretical models of grain growth predict that dust properties change as a function of disk radius, mass, age, and other physical conditions. High angular resolution observations at several (sub-)mm wavelengths constitute the ideal tool with which to directly probe the bu...
متن کاملA Multiwavelength Study of Star Formation in the L1495E Cloud in Taurus
We have carried out a deep (t=30000s) x-ray search of the eastern portion of the L1495 cloud centered on the well known weak line T Tauri star (WTTS) V410 Tau using the ROSAT PSPC. This deep exposure enabled a search for candidate pre-main sequence (PMS) objects in this cloud to a limit ∼ 20 times more sensitive than that typical of the fields examined with the Einstein searches. Despite assert...
متن کاملMultiwavelength Observations of the BL Lacertae Object PKS 2155 – 304 with XMM - Newton
The optical-UV and X-ray instruments on-board XMM-Newton provide an excellent opportunity to perform simultaneous observations of violently variable objects over a broad wavelength range. The UV and X-ray bright BL Lac object PKS 2155–304 has been repeatedly observed with XMM-Newton about twice per year. In this paper, we present a detailed analysis of the simultaneous multi-wavelength variabil...
